Coaching: Work With a Coach, or Coach Riders Yourself

Invite a coach to guide your training, or coach other riders on Ride Cave. Free to be coached, part of Cave Crew to coach.

Training is better with a coach. Coaching on Ride Cave lets you invite someone to guide your training, or coach other riders yourself, without leaving the app. A coach sees your fitness and adherence, builds and adjusts your plans, leaves notes, and runs reports. You stay in control the whole way.

Free to be coached

Working with a coach is free. You do not need Cave Crew to be coached. Find each other by username, send a request or accept one, and the relationship begins. You have one active coach at a time, and either of you can end it whenever you want. Coaching others, the writing side, is part of Cave Crew.

Plans built for you

Your coach builds your training plan or assigns one of their templates, calibrated to your FTP. As your training changes they edit the plan directly: adding, removing, and reworking workouts, reshaping the weeks, and updating your training numbers (like FTP and weight) when a test says they should move. You activate the plan and ride it like any other. Nothing about your account changes hands: your coach works inside a clear, consented lane.

The Coach Log

Everything your coach does shows up on your Coach Log, a card on your home dashboard. Notes, plan changes, and updates all land there, newest first. You can reply with your own notes, and save any coach note straight into your own training notes so it lives alongside the rest of your record.

For coaches: templates, then per-athlete control

Coaches build a plan once as a template and apply it across the roster, and every athlete gets it calibrated to their own FTP. From there you have full control of each athlete's plan: edit and add workouts, reshape the weeks, activate or deactivate, and update their training numbers, with every change logged for the athlete to see. You can run on demand Data Lab reports for an athlete, keep shared or private notes, and see your whole roster at a glance, including who is ramping and who has gone quiet.

Built on consent and trust

Coaching is two-sided and consent based, and adults only. A coach never sees your email, birthdate, or billing details, and never any location from your rides. Accepting a coach connects the two of you so you can see each other's profiles, and ending the relationship, or blocking, stops their access at once. It is coaching with a clear on and off switch, held by you.

Getting started

Open Coaching to learn more, then head to the app: search for your coach or athlete by username in Settings, send the request, and start training together. Being coached is free, and coaching others is part of Cave Crew.
