Ride Cave Gets Social

Ride Cave has always been focused on the ride itself—structured workouts, racing, tracking. But cycling is better with other people. Public profiles bring a social layer to Ride Cave, letting you share your riding and connect with others on the platform.

Your Profile, Your Rules

Every existing Ride Cave account is private by default. Nothing changes unless you decide to change it. If you never touch your privacy settings, nobody can see your profile, your ride history, or your stats. That's a deliberate choice—we're not going to opt you into sharing without your knowledge.

When you're ready, you can make your profile public from Settings > Preferences > Privacy. From there, you get granular control over exactly what's visible: ride history, starred workouts, custom workouts, and records can each be toggled independently. Share everything or just the parts you want.

Discover and Follow

The new Discover page lets you browse public riders on Ride Cave. Each card shows a rider's avatar, username, and stats like FTP, total kWh, and XP. Found someone with a solid workout library or impressive records? Follow them to keep tabs on their activity.

Usernames are now clickable throughout the app—on leaderboards, in groups, and in race results. Tap any @username to view that rider's profile. You can also share your profile with a direct link.

Privacy First

A few things worth knowing about how we handle privacy:

All existing accounts default to private. You must explicitly opt in to a public profile. Accounts for users under 18 are always private and cannot be made public—this is enforced at the database level, not just the UI. When your profile is private, your data is completely hidden from other users. There are no half-measures.

Even with a public profile, you control the granularity. Want to show your records but keep your ride history private? Done. Want to share your custom workouts but not your starred ones? That works too.

Getting Started

Head to Settings > Preferences > Privacy to review your visibility settings. If you want to go public, flip the toggle and choose what to share. If you're happy staying private, you don't need to do anything at all.
