Workout Calendar: plan your week with Intervals.icu and Ride Cave training plans

A unified calendar that pulls together your training plan workouts, Intervals.icu schedule, and manually created sessions into one view. Drag to reschedule, click to ride.

One calendar for everything

If you train with a structured plan, sync workouts from Intervals.icu, and occasionally create one-off sessions, you've probably dealt with the frustration of checking multiple places to figure out what's on the schedule. The Workout Calendar brings all of that into a single month view so you can see your entire training week at a glance.

The calendar lives inside the Workouts tab and aggregates three sources: workouts from your active Ride Cave training plan, scheduled workouts synced from Intervals.icu, and sessions you've manually created or scheduled from the workout library. Each source is labeled so you always know where a workout came from.

Training plan workouts on the calendar

When you activate a training plan in Ride Cave, every workout from that plan appears on the calendar automatically. You'll see the workout name, type, duration, and target TSS for each day. Key workouts are flagged so they stand out, and completed sessions get a checkmark so you can track your progress through the plan.

Plans aren't locked in place. If life gets in the way and you need to move a workout, just drag it to a different day. The plan updates in the background and remembers the new schedule. This lets you keep the structure of your periodized program while adapting to the reality of a busy week.

Intervals.icu integration

If you use Intervals.icu for planning or analytics, you can connect your account to Ride Cave and your scheduled workouts will appear on the calendar automatically. The sync pulls workout names, durations, training load, and full interval structures with power targets resolved to your current FTP.

Intervals.icu workouts are read-only on the Ride Cave calendar. This is intentional—those workouts are managed in Intervals.icu and we don't want you to accidentally modify them in the wrong place. They show up with an icu badge so you can tell them apart from Ride Cave native workouts.

When you finish a ride in Ride Cave, you can also auto-upload it back to Intervals.icu. This closes the loop: plan in Intervals.icu, ride in Ride Cave, and the completed activity shows up in both places without any manual file juggling.

Quick Create and the workout library

Not every workout needs to come from a plan or an external service. The calendar has a + button on every day that lets you create a workout on the spot using Magic Ride (our AI workout generator) or search the workout library to schedule an existing ride.

This is handy for filling in rest days with an easy spin, adding a one-off test, or scheduling a workout a friend recommended. These manually scheduled workouts are fully editable—you can drag them to a new date or delete them if plans change.

How it all fits together

The calendar merges all three sources into a clean day-by-day view. On any given day you might see a threshold workout from your training plan, an easy spin you scheduled from the library, and a group ride your coach put on your Intervals.icu calendar. Each one is labeled by source so there's no confusion about where it came from or how to modify it.

Workouts are sorted by source priority: plan workouts first, then Intervals.icu events, then manually scheduled sessions. This keeps the most structured training front and center while still showing everything else on the schedule.

Connecting Intervals.icu

To get started with the Intervals.icu integration, open Settings and connect your account using OAuth. Once connected, Ride Cave syncs your planned workouts and can optionally auto-upload completed rides. Your FTP and weight are also pulled from Intervals.icu so your zones stay consistent across both platforms.

The connection is secure and token-based. Ride Cave never stores your Intervals.icu password, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings.

What's next for the calendar

The Workout Calendar is available now in the Workouts tab. We're continuing to build on it with features like weekly and daily views, deeper drag-and-drop editing for plan restructuring, and integration with additional training platforms.
